Newcastle United are now reportedly ready to launch their offer to sign Palmeiras midfielder Allan Elias, who has a release clause worth as much as £88m.
Newcastle are in desperate need of an attacking spark not named Nick Woltemade. The German simply cannot do it on his own and needs fellow big-money signing Anthony Elanga to finally find some form.
Despite being one of Newcastle’s most-expensive ever signings, the former Nottingham Forest star is yet to score in the 17 games that he’s played for the Magpies. As a result, he’s gradually lost his place to Jacob Murphy as Eddie Howe looks to find a solution to his side’s attacking problems.
Having his say on his recent struggles and subsequent place on Newcastle’s bench, Elanga chose to take an optimistic approach whilst on international duty with Sweden.
It would undoubtedly provide the Magpies with a major boost if Elanga found form after the international break. Only Leeds, Nottingham Forest and Wolverhampton Wanderers have scored fewer Premier League goals than Newcastle’s 11 so far this season and something must change.

The deal may not come cheap, however. Palmeiras are in a strong negotiating position thanks to the Brazilian’s €100m (£88m) release clause and could demand that in full to sell their young talent.
That being said, it is believed that Newcastle are extremely keen and want to strike an ‘immediate’ deal.
Praised by South American expert Nathan Joyes for his “impressive” cameos at the Club World Cup last summer, Allan has since kicked on in Brazil. The attacking midfielder has scored twice and assisted another eight goals in the current campaign, with one of those assists coming at the Club World Cup against Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami side.
Several clubs have benefited from investing in South American talents in the Premier League and now Newcastle could be next in line to welcome a rising star.

Tottenham have now been told what it’s going to take to strike a January deal for Al-Ahli striker Ivan Toney, following the player’s alleged talks with former boss Thomas Frank.
Spurs’ immediate need for a new centre-forward might dwindle in the eyes of some once Dominic Solanke returns to full fitness, with Randal Kolo Muani also steadily getting up to speed after spending most of this season out injured.
Kolo Muani notched an impressive assist against FC Copenhagen in Spurs’ last outing, but missed glorious chances to double the home side’s lead, much to the bewilderment of Xavi Simons, who put the ball on a plate for the Frenchman twice.
However, while Kolo Muani earned Frank’s praise for his overall display at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, it is important to remember that the 27-year-old is only on a dry loan and there is no guarantee he stays beyond 2025/2026.
Meanwhile, Richarlison has been heavily criticised for his form lately, and his abject penalty miss against Copenhagen, immediately after taking the ball off Dane Scarlett, best sums up the Brazilian’s woes right now.
According to some reports, with his contract expiring in 2027, Richarlison could well leave Tottenham in January and there are suggestions that he would jump at the chance to re-join Everton.
However, any transfer for the 28-year-old may well hinge on Spurs finding a winter replacement.
Depending on developments surrounding Richarlison and the long-term future of Kolo Muani, Tottenham could suddenly find themselves needing a new number nine after all.
Ahead of the 2026 World Cup, Toney is being linked as one of their many potential options alongside the likes of Juventus striker Dušan Vlahović.
Vlahovic’s deal expires at the end of this season and Tottenham have reportedly spoken to his representatives about a move, while Frank is believed to have reached out to Toney personally.
The former Brentford star, who scored 20 Premier League goals during his best campaign under Frank, has scored for fun in Saudi Arabia with 41 goals in just 59 total appearances.
However, ever since his switch to the Gulf, Toney has largely been excluded from the Three Lions squad, bar one call-up earlier this year for games against Andorra and Senegal.

The 29-year-old will be eager to challenge for a place in Thomas Tuchel’s plans, but he may have to consider a return to England for this to be possible.

According to TEAMtalk, Frank has indeed held ‘direct talks’ with Toney about a possible move to Tottenham in the new year.
The Saudi Pro League side, who are still unbeaten this season, lie eight points behind table-toppers Al-Nassr and could be very reluctant to part company with their star striker.
However, they would entertain talks on a few key conditions.
Al-Ahli value Toney at around £30 million for a permanent January deal, but suitors are said to be ‘baulking’ at this asking price, while the player himself faces a hefty tax bill if he departs Saudi for good just under two years after arriving, meaning a loan to buy is the most likely solution.
Making this option an obligation could apparently sweeten the deal and obtain Al-Ahli’s green light, with Tottenham now ‘leading the race’ to sign Toney ahead of the window’s reopening.

Ratcliffe meeting routine, says Amorim
Since last weekend’s 3-0 thrashing at the hands of rivals Manchester City, rumours have circled around Ruben Amorim’s immediate future at Old Trafford. Some reports have even suggested that he has just three games to save his job, starting this evening against Chelsea.
The arrival of Sir Jim Ratcliffe hardly helped end those rumours, either, but the manager has since clarified that meeting was simply routine whilst joking that he was offered a new contract.
For the time being, it seems as though Amorim has the support of INEOS. But that won’t last forever if current results continue. The owners invested around £200m to bolster United’s squad in the summer and will be expecting that to be reflected on the pitch sooner rather than later.
INEOS are unlikely to be finished with their investment, either. 2026 will hand them a fresh opportunity to complete Amorim’s side and reports have already suggested that there could be attempts to sign the likes of Eduardo Camavinga from Real Madrid.
Whether the Red Devils are willing to splash out on the Frenchman is another question, however. Instead, they may look towards a bargain deal to sign a Barcelona alternative.
Man Utd now eyeing De Jong swoop
According to reports in Spain, Man United are now eyeing a 2026 move to sign Frenkie de Jong. The Barcelona midfielder is set to be out of contract next summer and could, therefore, hand the Red Devils the perfect opportunity to land the deal of a lifetime.
There will undoubtedly be plenty of suitors if the Dutchman becomes a free agent next year, but United have surprisingly had little trouble attracting talent recently, despite missing out on European football last season.

وقال محمد الشاذلي في تصريحات على قناة صدى البلد: “منتخبات الشباب هي رصيد المنتخب الأول، والضمانة الأساسية، هو تواجد جهاز فني قادر أولاً على الانتقاء، لا يعرف المجاملات نهائياً وليس مصريا بالأساس، لتحقيق إنجاز معين أو لبناء خطة معينة أو لبناء منتخب معين، وده الحقيقة تم بالفعل، وكنا نمتلك منتخبا مع ميكالي له شكل كبير، لكن إخفاق حصل بالأساس وعرقل الأمور”.
وتابع: “هناك تدخل هيحصل من الدولة في كل الأمور الإدارية والفنية والمعسكرات وكل ما يتعلق بمشروع كرة القدم، مش بس تطوير، نتكلم بهذا المشروع، ولدينا المنتخب الأولمبي هو ضمن الاستعداد الأولمبي للدولة للرياضة المصرية، والوزير سيناقش بشكل تفصيلي المنتخب الأولمبي وجهازه الفني والإداري واستعداداته ومعسكراته والدعم الخاص به وأجهزته الطبية وكل هذه الأمور”.
وعن أزمة منتخب تنس الطاولة واللاعب عمر عصر، قال الشاذلي: “عمر أبلغ الوزير اليوم هاتفيا، أن المنتخب لا يوجد به طبيب خاص، وهذه الأمور تم إضافتها في التحقيقات بالفعل، وفقاً لكلام عمر عصر للوزير وهيتم التحقيق في ذلك”:
وواصل: “هناك أمور كثيرة جداً جعلتنا ننشئ لجنتين للتحقيق في واقعة التنس الطاولة، أولاً أمر متعلق إن أحد أطراف هذا النزاع هو ابن رئيس الاتحاد، وفي أمر آخر يتعلق هل ابن رئيس الاتحاد كان من ضمن التصنيف اللاعبين المصريين الذين كانوا يستحقون المشاركة في البطولة ولا في مجاملة في هذا الأمر؟ هذا مجال تحقيق في اللجنتين، لجنة القيم ولجنة ضبط الأداء”.
وأكمل: “التحقيقات سوف تهتم بكل التفاصيل، هناك لاعب لم يسافر، وهناك عضو من الجهاز الفني، الجهاز الطبي، طبيب الاتحاد لم يسافر، الطبيب عنصر أساسي ونحن قمنا بتوفيره لكل الاتحادات ونقدم الدعم الخاص بالاتحادات لوجود الأجهزة الطبية، ويحدث تسوية الأوراق الخاصة بالسفريات، هناك تسوية للبعثة التي سافرت ورجعت تاني، ويتم عملية تفتيش على هذه الأمور”.
واستطرد: “حذرنا الاتحادات والأندية المصرية خوفاً عليهم، وأصدرنا لائحة طبية في 2024، هذه اللائحة الطبية تنص حال وجود منافسات أو شاركت في منافسات داخل أو خارج مصر تم اكتشاف عدم وجود لجنة طبية مختصة وهذه تعد مخالفة وتحال للنيابة فوراً وتجرم بحكم القانون”.
وشدد: “قانون الرياضة في تعديلاته هناك إجبار على وجود بعثة طبية مرافقة لكل البعثات الرياضية، إضافة إلى بعثات طبية تكون موجودة في المنافسات التي تقام على أرض مصر لو كانت منافسات محلية، وشهد عدم تواجد سيارة إسعاف فذلك مخالفة قانونية، والقانون المصري اعتبرها مخالفة جنائية وليست مخالفة إدارية وتحال للنيابة”.
Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is still looking to bolster Spurs’ attacking ranks before the transfer deadline in four days’ time, and given their previous luck this window, it wouldn’t be surprising to see them scrambling till the eleventh hour.
Thomas Frank watched on as his side failed to secure the signings of Morgan Gibbs-White and Eberechi Eze, both in spectacular fashion.
Gibbs-White saw his once-advanced move to N17 blocked by Nottingham Forest, who wrote a letter to Spurs threatening legal action, as weeks of back and forth between the clubs ensued before the 25-year-old signed a new contract regardless.
Meanwhile, Tottenham were convinced they’d land Eze at one stage – having agreed personal terms with the player and the finances of a deal with Crystal Palace – only for Arsenal to swoop in and hijack the transfer.
Their need for a number 10 is glaring, having lost both Dejan Kulusevski to a knee injury earlier this year and James Maddison to an ACL rupture in pre-season.

At one point, Frank was planning to head into 25/26 with a fully fit Maddison and Gibbs-White, only to now have neither. In an ideal world, it’s been reported that the Dane would like two new playmakers (Gary Jacob), but that scenario looks near-impossible barring a last-gasp miracle.
In terms of who they could bring in, Spurs are in the market for a new centre-back, number 10 and a winger.
One of the playmakers on their radar is West Ham United’s Lucas Paqueta, and the Hammers are reportedly open to selling, if their asking price is met, and they can source a replacement (Paul O’Keefe).
The Brazil international would be Spurs’ second signing of the window from their London rivals after a £55m deal for Mohammed Kudus, which also ended an unofficial transfer embargo between the two clubs spanning 14 years.
Tottenham offered Yves Bissouma in swap deal for Lucas Paqueta
According to TBR Football and journalist Graeme Bailey, Levy and the Spurs recruitment team actually made a unique proposal for Paqueta recently, involving Galatasaray-linked Yves Bissouma.
Bailey reports that Tottenham offered Bissouma in a direct swap deal for the Brazil international, and the talks centered around Paqueta going the other way on a straight loan.
Bissouma also would’ve departed for the London Stadium on a dry temporary deal, but it is believed that negotiations didn’t progress to the final details and the Mali international has now agreed to join Galatasaray instead.
According to other reports, West Ham want £60 million to part company with Paqueta, so Spurs will need to head back to the negotiating table.

وتابع: “أعلم الكثير عن تاريخ الأهلي، وأعرف أن هدفه هو تحقيق الفوز دائمًا، هذا ما أتيت من أجله لتحقيقه مع الفريق”.
وواصل: “تعودت التواجد في أندية تبحث عن الفوز، وفي نفس الوقت سأبذل قصارى جهدي لتطوير النادي واللاعبين سأبذل قصارى جهدي للحفاظ على تاريخ النادي ومتشوق للعمل مع الفريق وأبدأ عملي، لأني أعلم بأن لدي مباراة بعد 8 أيام”.
وأكمل: “أبحث فقط عن الفوز وتحقيق الألقاب وجئت إلى النادي الأهلي من أجل هذا الأمر تعودت أكون جزءًا كبيرًا من فرق كبيرة تبحث عن الفوز وتتأهل إلى البطولات الأوروبية أعلم بأنها مهمة صعبة لكني معتاد على هذا الأمر، جئت لتحقيق الامجاد مع النادي الأهلي”.
وأردف: “تابعت بعض المباريات للنادي الأهلي في الفترة الماضية سواء في كأس العالم للأندية أو مباريات الدوري، من أجل تحليل الأداء وأعرف ماذا أحتاج في الفترة المقبلة، سوف أساعد الفريق على تطوير الأداء”.
وأستكمل: “الأهلي خاض 3 مباريات في كأس العالم للأندية وقدم مجهودًا مميزًا للغاية، من الممكن أنه لم يحقق النتائج التي يُريدها لكني موجود لكي أساعدهم أنا مسؤول عن تحقيق الإنجازات في الفترة المقبلة، ومساعدة الفريق على التطوير”.

وعن تفضيل عرض الأهلي، أوضح: “كان لدي الكثير من العروض في الشهر الماضي، عندما أكون مدربًا في أحد الدوريات الأوروبية وهو الدوري الألماني فطبيعي أن أتلقى عروض بكل تأكيد ستصل لي عروض من جميع أنحاء العالم، كانت المرة الأول منذ أسابيع أن أعرف عن اهتمام الأهلي بالتعاقد معي قلبي أبلغني بعدما سمعت العرض بأنني أريد أن أسمع الكثير عن هذا العرض، وبعد ذلك كان هناك وفد من النادي الأهلي جاء للدنمارك لإقناعي بتدريب النادي، فخور لأنني سأكون جزء ًامن كيان النادي الأهلي، إن شاء الله سأحقق نتائج، ومن المهم أن أعرف عن ثقافة جديدة أعرف جيدًا”.
عن الضغط التي تتسبب فيه وسائل الإعلام للنادي الأهلي، قال: “سمعت عن حجم النادي وشعبيته التي تتخطى 70 مليون مصري أعرف قيمة النادي الأهلي العظيمة، وحجم شعبيته، وهناك اهتمام إعلامي كبير وهذا من الممكن أن يشكل ضغطا كبيرا علي، ولكن سيكون من الخارج وليس من الداخل ما يهمني هو النجاح الذي سأكون قادرًا على تحقيقه مع فريقي، وأنا مؤمن بأن ما أفعله هو الشيئ الصحيح”.
وعن التعامل مع الإعلام، أستكمل: “سأكون جاهزًا للرد على أي سؤال من الإعلام، وأتمنى أنه عندما يحدث بيننا محادثات أن أرد عليه، وأعد الإعلام بالرد بصراحة وأن أكون أمينًا سيكون بيننا علاقة إنسانية، وأعلم بأن هذا بالنسبة لكم شيئ مهم”.
وعن الاستعداد لمباراة إيجل نوار البوروندي في دوري أبطال إفريقيا وعدد كبير من اللاعبين غير متواجد بسبب الانضمام إلى المنتخب، تحدث قائلاً: “أولًا أقدم التهنئة لمنتخب مصر على التأهل لكأس العالم 2026 أعلم جيدًا أن هناك عددا كبيرا من لاعبي النادي الأهلي متواجدين في معسكر منتخب مصر وهو أمر يعكس جودة النادي هذا الأمر ليس بجديد علي لقد اعتدت على تولي تدريب الأندية التي تنضم لمنتخباتها”.
واستطرد: “أثق بأنه سيكون لدي الوقت لتحديد كيفية اللعب مع الفريق من الطبيعي أن أي مدرب عندما يتولى تدريب فريق أن يتواجد قبل بداية الموسم، ولكن هذا الأمر غير متوافر حاليًا وأعلم بأن هناك مباراة قادمة بعد أيام قليلة، وبعد عودة اللاعبين الدوليين سيكون هناك تدريبات معهم”.
وأتم: “لقد شاهدت على السوشيال ميديا بعض الصور لي مع الثنائي المصري محمود أبو الدهب وعبد الستار صبري الذان كان يلعبان معي في النمسا، على الرغم من مرور السنين، أنا متذكر تلك الأوقات، أتمني رؤيتهم قريبًا”.
