Endrick raring to join Real Madrid
Ready to shorten his holidays to join his new team
Could make his debut against AC Milan on July 31
WHAT HAPPENED?
Despite his young age, Endrick has already made waves in the football world, catching the eye of Real Madrid's board with his stellar performances, including a memorable goal against Spain at the Santiago Bernabeu, his future home.
Due to FIFA regulations, Endrick cannot officially join Real Madrid until he turns 18 on July 21. But if Brazil progresses to the semi-finals and subsequently to the final of the 2024 Copa America, which is slated for July 14, then he would have little time for recess.

Leeds United have answered back convincingly to a minority of critics at Elland Road that expected the Whites would continue to struggle after a slow start to Championship life, Daniel Farke’s side stamping their authority on the division last time out in an impressive 1-0 win away at Leicester City.
Only losing one game from their opening 14 before Leeds came to town, the Foxes were humbled by the Whites on the night with Georginio Rutter scoring the decisive strike.
Leeds forward Georginio Rutter.
The ex-Hoffenheim man has stepped up to the mark for his team since their relegation down to the Championship, leading the line effectively in a feared attack often consisting of Joel Piroe, Crysencio Summerville and Dan James directly behind him.
Yet, Sam Greenwood is currently outperforming the French attacker out on loan with Middlesbrough – the former Arsenal youth player yet to really be given an opportunity in west Yorkshire.
Greenwood will just keep plugging away at the Riverside Stadium at this moment in time, whilst Rutter focuses on continuing to star under Farke’s guidance.
Rutter’s numbers this season
Deployed not just as an out-and-out poacher who instinctively finishes off chances, Rutter’s strengths also revolve around his ability to create opportunities for his teammates to fire home.
Leeds forward Georginio Rutter.
Leeds’ number 24 has more assists than he has goals so far this season, assisting five times whilst only scoring three from 14 played.
It was his display at Millwall away back in September that first got Leeds fans waxing lyrical about their 21-year-old hot prospect, charging through unmarked to assist Piroe for the first goal of the contest at the Den.
He would rub salt into the Millwall wound with a goal of his own late on to give Farke’s men a deserved 3-0 victory, firing a fierce effort into the back of the net after a deflected pass fortuitously found its way to him.
With Leeds sharing the goals around in attack – Piroe and Summerville fighting it out for the top goal scorer bragging rights with five and six respectively – Rutter is excelling more as a creative spark but he can score crucial goals when called upon.
Greenwood is also performing well in a creative role at Middlesbrough, playing predominantly as a winger under new boss Michael Carrick.
Greenwood’s numbers this season
Since making the switch in the summer to Teesside on loan, Greenwood has seen his first-team experience at senior level increase with Boro – making 12 appearances in total for Carrick’s men so far, after his minutes at Leeds had been cut.
The 21-year-old has three goals to his name in those 12 appearances – all of which have come in his last – including a strike last time out to help his team salvage a share of the points away at Plymouth Argyle in an electric 3-3 contest.
Leeds United forward Sam Greenwood.
As a result, Greenwood is currently outperforming Rutter in front of goal, despite being away from Elland Road – finding the back of the net at a faster rate than his counterpart.
The tricky winger was a standout performer down in Devon, winning eight of his 15 ground duels per Sofascore on top of scoring one of his three on target attempts.
Praised from a young age within the Leeds Academy structure – football journalist Noel Whelan calling the 21-year-old “immense" after a James Ward-Prowse style free-kick hit the back of net in 2021 whilst featuring for the Whites – Greenwood will surely get more opportunities at Elland Road when this loan deal expires.
The 5 foot 11 attacker, who has been capped at England U21 level, would give Farke another dynamic option in attack with the German head coach spoilt for choice already without the addition of Greenwood to his plans.
Jude Bellingham is loving life, with Lewis Dunk finding that out the hard way when being nutmegged by the Real Madrid star in England training.

The Lionesses goalkeeping icon celebrated her birthday on Thursday and, naturally, received countless well-wishes from team-mates, past and present. As such, the Arsenal forward has a collection of touching photos with the England shot stopper, which she shared in a collage to celebrate her birthday.

United have, perhaps unsurprisingly, faltered since Russo's departure in the summer, with Earps and Co a whopping 12 points off the pace in the WSL title race, and nine points off the Gunners in the last remaining European spot. Despite clearly missing former team-mate Earps, Russo has not looked back as her six goals and three assists in 14 league appearances has catapulted her side to within three points off joint-leaders Chelsea and Manchester City.

Russel Arnold, the former Sri Lanka batsman, and commentator, has been appointed tournament director for the Lankan Premier League, to be played in August and September. Having officially signed on several days ago, Arnold’s work begins in earnest in May.”We consider bringing in a person in the caliber of Russel as the Tournament Director of the LPL will help the process of making it a successful tournament, especially considering his experience as a player and also his knowledge in promoting the game,” said Thilanga Sumathipala, the SLC president.Although planning remains in the early stages, Sri Lanka Cricket is also attempting to lure second-string India players to the tournament, with Sumathipala having repeatedly stated that he plans to appeal to the BCCI about the issue. The presence of Indian players – even those of lesser renown – would be a substantial boon, particularly as LPL match times will be ideally suited for Indian viewers. The BCCI has never allowed its players to participate in foreign leagues, although SLC hopes to change that given the recent co-operation between both boards.SLC CEO Ashley de Silva also said that the board would insist that all its players take part in the LPL instead of the Caribbean Premier League, which is set to take place at the same time.SLC has not had a high profile T20 tournament since the SLPL, which had a lukewarm reception on the island in 2012, and was never played again. The LPL is scheduled to run from August 18 to September 10.

Heart of Midlothian have begun their 2023/24 campaign in impressive fashion. The Gorgie outfit have recorded a win and a draw in their opening two Premiership fixtures and have qualified for the League Cup quarter-finals.
The 4-3 aggregate victory over Rosenborg has been the most pleasing aspect so far however, going through to the playoff round where they take on Greek side PAOK this week.
Amid the glorious start to the season, could Naismith be close to losing his talisman?
Is Lawrence Shankland leaving Hearts?
The Scot has been in sensational form since moving to Tynecastle in the summer of 2022 from Belgian side Beerschot.
He netted 28 goals across all competitions during 2022/23, including three in Europe and has carried this momentum into the current campaign, scoring four goals over five matches to give Hearts a solid start.
This type of form was always going to pique interest from other clubs, and now it appears as though teams from Saudi Arabia and England have made enquiries regarding his availability.
The Jambos are in no rush to sell according to Edinburgh Evening News and would only let him depart the club should an offer arrive in the region of £3m-£4m along with some add-ons, representing a major profit considering they signed him for just £500k.
It would be a major blow for Naismith to lose a player who has shone during his spell in Edinburgh so far and who could be the difference between playing European group stage football or not.
If he does move on, the club may just have an ideal future heir for the 28-year-old waiting in the wings – Mackenzie Kirk.
Who is Mackenzie Kirk?
The son of former Hearts striker Andy Kirk, the youngster is aiming to follow in his father’s footsteps and become a regular in the first team.
He is making a solid start to these aspirations, netting 25 goals across just 35 matches for the B side since the start of the 2021/22 season and these are numbers which will surely keep getting better.
Under former manager Robbie Nielson, Kirk made his senior bow in April 2022 against Ross County, coming off the bench for a short cameo, and he received praise from his boss following the game.
Steven Naismith
“It was good for Mackenzie to come on,” Nielson said. “He’s had a wee injury, then he came back in and scored in the Youth Cup semi-final recently. He has been doing well and he is a natural finisher.
“There was only a couple of minutes to go on Saturday and Boycie had cramp. We were going to take him off so it was time to give the boy a chance. We put him on and, if there’s anybody at the club going to nick a goal, it’s Kirky. He’s that type of player.”
This certainly gave him the confidence boost he needed as Kirk went on to score 17 times for the B side in the Lowland league last season and has continued this rich vein of form into the current campaign, netting six in six.
Should Shankland depart Edinburgh for pastures new, Naismith should have no worries about giving Kirk a chance.
The 19-year-old has shown he is an out-and-out striker and if given the opportunity, could repay the manager handsomely.
Arsenal could still be in the market for reinforcements this summer, with news in Spain giving an intriguing update on a reported target for the Gunners.
Mikel Arteta and Edu have worked hard this transfer window, obtaining the signatures of Kai Havertz, Declan Rice, Jurrien Timber and David Raya, in four signings that bolster the spine of the squad.
While the activity has been applauded, there could be room for more additions, especially following the damning injury to Timber in the opening day of the season that is suspected to keep him away from the action for the foreseeable future.
It’s not only the defence that has been struck by injury, with striker Gabriel Jesus also out of contention while he nurses a knee injury, making the remainder of the transfer window an interesting prospect for those at the Emirates.
Who could Arsenal sign this summer?
The Gunners have been linked to an abundance of talent throughout the summer window, as expected following their league title challenging campaign last term.
Read the latest Arsenal transfer news HERE…
One name that has appeared in recent reports is Barcelona starlet Ansu Fati, who could leave his boyhood club this window due to ongoing financial pressures.
As initially reported by Spanish outlet Sport, Arsenal were listed as significant admirers of the 20-year-old, claiming that the north Londoners had made a ‘very tempting offer’ to sign the winger.
This week, an update from Radio Barca was relayed by Twitter figure Eduardo Hagn, stating that people should “not rule out” the Gunners making a move for the Spaniard.
How good is Ansu Fati?
Once lauded as being the “difference-maker” by talent scout Jacek Kulig, there were high hopes for Ansu Fati to succeed Lionel Messi at the Camp Nou, with the Spaniard even adorning the number 10.
After a rapid rise to fame from the infamous La Masia set-up to the first team, the 20-year-old has found himself slipping down the pecking order in Catalonia due to injury and the rise in form of those around him.
While the young star’s potential exit from Barcelona is a painful idea for many, it could be the perfect acquisition for Arteta, who could grasp a player with innate ability and his best years ahead of him.
Described as a talent that would “fit Arsenal stylistically” by journalist Ryan Taylor via GIVEMESPORT, the versatile forward could well be the difference between the Gunners challenging for the top four and competing for the title once again this campaign.
Speaking to Sky Sports, pundit and former Arsenal forward Paul Merson slashed Arteta’s squad’s title hopes should they fail to identify more big names this summer, with him focusing on Eddie Nketiah.
Merson said that despite the 24-year-old being reliable when called upon, he isn’t the forward that could be “firing Arsenal to the title”, adding that if the club fail to perform as they did last term, “they won’t even be in the top four”.
While his statements are damning, the club could prove critics wrong in signing a player as lavish as Ansu Fati, who has proved to be an exciting talent playing among some of the world's best.
Likened statistically to Arsenal’s own Gabriel Martinelli by FBref, the explosive £199k-per-week forward could be that added bit of quality to close the gap between the Gunners and Manchester City.
Last season, the north Londoners' market moves proved pivotal to their success in obtaining the likes of Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko, suggesting that on top of the talent already secured this summer, further quality additions could well pave the way to the club’s first Premier League title since 2004.
